TU Travel Grant
TU Berlin and its Network of Doctoral Programs supports conference travel for all doctoral candidates at the university.  Support is mainly granted for active participation (e.g. presentation of a poster or paper). If especially relevant for the doctoral work, the participation without a contribution can be supported.

ProMotion International
ProMotion International aims to complement the heterogeneous academic supervision and service offers made by central units for further education (ZEWK and II WB) and the TU-DOC Office. The aim is to encourage and accompany women during the PhD process to continuously pursue and successfully complete their degree. Joining women in a network offers not only support and additional motivation but also an excellent opportunity to gain information and strategic knowledge. Thus equipped, they are well prepared for a wide variety of future career options. Participation in the English-language modules is open for all female international doctoral candidates at the TU Berlin.
Registration deadline: 28th February 2018
STIBET - Degree Completion Grant
The TU Berlin offers a number of degree completion grants for international doctoral candidates in situations of need. The grants are financed through STIBET, the scholarship and counselling program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funded by the Federal Foreign Office.  As a rule, the maximum duration is up to 6 months. The amount granted is based on the duration with a maximum amount of 800,00€ per month. If specific reasons apply (e.g. parenthood), an additional aid may be granted. Applications for the scholarship starting in April 2018 may be handed in at TU-DOC Office until 28 February 2018.
I, Scientist Conference on Gender, Career Paths and Networking
The conference is designed by and for students and young researchers in the natural sciences and mathematics with the mission to increase the visibility of female role models, introduce you to a variety of career options, and give you a dedicated time for networking and establishing useful contacts. Registration until 23rd April 2018 here.

Strategic Call "Citizen Science" (PDF, 313,0 KB)
Funded will be projects in which scientists of TU Berlin will cooperate with citizens for a certain period and topic. Open to all topics and disciplines.
Therefore, the vice presídent invites all chairs and working Groups to apply for funding for a Citizen-Science Project.

Die Fulbright-Kommission fördert vier- bis sechsmonatige USA-Aufenthalte junger deutscher Nachwuchswissenschaftler/innen, die ein Forschungsprojekt durchführen, das in direktem Zusammenhang mit einer bereits begonnenen akademischen Dissertation steht.

Financing Open Access Publications
Starting in 2017, with support of the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft), TU Berlin established a publication fund to support university researchers’ publications in open access journals.
Funding Conditions
BIMoS - PhD Award
BIMoS would like to honor the best dissertation among TU doctoral students, who have completed their doctorate in 2017 on a topic within the area of model and simulation based research. The aim is to highlight outstanding achievements of a young researcher at the start of their scientific career.
Deadline: 16th February 2018
Code of Conduct
In July 2017, the Executive Board of the TU Berlin decided on a "Code of Conduct" as the basis for so-called “industry-sponsored doctorates”. The "Code of Conduct" emphasizes the importance of a free choice of topics, participation in the scientific discussion, and the publicity of the research results.
Professional courses and language courses
As part of the Promos program supported by the "Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD)" TU Berlin offers four to five part time scholarships in 2017. The scholarships are available for TU students who intend to visit professional courses and language courses abroad. Professional courses must include a teaching component and can be supported from a minimum of 5 days to a maximum of 6 weeks. Language courses at state universities abroad from 3 weeks to 6 months are eligible for support. In both cases the financial support may include travel expenses supported by a lump sum of 400 Euro as well as a lump sum of 500 EUR for course fees.
Applications may be handed in at TU-DOC Office at any time.
