TU Travel Grants for Conferences
All doctoral candidates of TU Berlin who wish to participate in a conference may apply for a TU Travel Grant for Conferences as part of its Network of Doctoral Programs.
Applications may be handed in quarterly.
Deadline: October 15th, 2017

applications for the Elsa-Neumann-Scholarship may be handed in until 24th November 2017 at 12 a.m.
Scholarships are awarded full time as well as for completion only.

STIBET - Degree Completion Grant
The TU Berlin offers a number of degree completion grants for international doctoral candidates in situations of need. The grants are financed through STIBET, the scholarship and counselling programme of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funded by the Ferderal Foreign Office.

Call for Applications: Maecenata Forschungskollegium, 19. Oktober 2017
Das Maecenata Institut für Philanthropie und Zivilgesellschaftsforschung in Berlin lädt den wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs - mit Bezug zur Zivilgesellschaftsforschung - zum Zusammenschluss im Forschungscollegium auf. Es bietet einen Ort der Vernetzung, des Austauschs und der Reflexion sowie Gespräche zu wissenschaftlichen Fragen. Das Collegium findet mehrmals im Jahr statt, wird vom Förderverein Zivilgesellschaftsforschung gefördert und ist interdisziplinär auf zivilgesellschaftliche Themen ausgerichtet. Es richtet sich insbesondere an Doktorand_innen, steht aber offen für alle Forschenden die ihre Abschlussarbeiten mit Bezug zur Zivilgesellschaft schreiben.
“German for University and Profession”, 24 October 2017 – 15 February 2018
The evening course (Tuesday and Thursday, 6.30pm-8pm) at ZEMS is particularly designed to meet the needs of international PhD students or guest researchers. The courses leading to level A1, A2, B1 or B2, focuses on general language skills, as well as communication at university, such as writing emails, giving presentations or holding meetings. Registration (from 25th September 2017).
Prüfer für Plausibilitätsinterviews an der Akademischen Prüfstelle Peking (Volksrepublik China), 31. Oktober 2017 (PDF, 39,1 KB)
Die Akademische Prüfstelle (APS), eine gemeinsame Einrichtung des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) und Auswärtigen Amtes mit Sitz im Kulturreferat der Deutschen Botschaft in Peking, ist mit der Aufgabe betraut, chinesische Bewerber für ein Studium in Deutschland hinsichtlich ihrer formalen Hochschulzugangsberechtigung sowie die Echtheit der dafür eingereichten Dokumente zu überprüfen. Mit den Studienbewerbern werden Plausibilitätsinterviews geführt. Für die Durchführung der Interviews werden Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Ingenieurwissenschaften aller Fachrichtungen baldmöglichst gesucht.
Internationalization of Teaching
The ZEWK offers three new workshops in October and November 2017 within the framwork of the internationalization of teaching in the natural sciences and enginerring sciences at TU Berlin, in preparation for a corresponding conference next year.
BIMoS Call for Applications for PhD Fellowships 2017/2018
Berlin International Graduate School in Model and Simulation based Research (BIMoS) offers 6 PhD fellowships for outstanding students holding a master’s degree.

The Berlin Mathematical School is a joint endeavor of the mathematics’ departments at the universities in Berlin: Freie Universität (FU), Humboldt-Universität (HU) and Technische Universität (TU). We offer an excellent doctoral program taught in English in a broad and active research environment together with mentoring programs, language courses, soft-skills seminars, funding for summer schools and conferences, a buddy program and funding for students with children. Code of Conduct
In July 2017, the Executive Board of the TU Berlin decided on a "Code of Conduct" as the basis for so-called “industry-sponsored doctorates”. The "Code of Conduct" emphasizes the importance of a free choice of topics, participation in the scientific discussion, and the publicity of the research results.
Professional courses and language courses
As part of the Promos program supported by the "Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD)" the TU Berlin offers four to five part time scholarships in 2017. The scholarships are available for TU students who intend to visit professional courses and language courses abroad. Professional courses must include a teaching component and can be supported from a minimum of 5 days to a maximum of 6 weeks. Language courses at state universities abroad from 3 weeks to 6 months are eligible for support. In both cases the financial support may include travel expenses supported by a lump sum of 400 Euro as well as a lump sum of 500 EUR for course fees.
Applications may be handed in at TU-DOC Office at any time.
