Postdoctoral support

Financial support for excellent postdoctoral researchers is provided by a number of sources and programmes both nationally and internationally. The following pages present only a selection of opportunities for postdoctoral candidates.

If you plan to apply for project funding or a grant to pursue research at the TU Berlin our Research Support Service will be happy to help.

German Research Foundation (DFG)

Individual support is offered by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in the form of scholarships, programmes, research stays abroad, employment in research training groups and the possibility to apply for employment funding as part of a project (Eigene Stelle). A further possibility for advanced doctoral researchers is an application for the funding of junior research groups within the Emmy-Noether Programme.

Further information is available from the German Research Foundation

European Funding Programmes

On the European level further funding opportunities exist, especially within the Marie Curie Programme and in the form of Starting Grants of the newly established European Research Council (ERC).

Further information is available from the EU Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KOWI)

Internal Funding
Another interesting perspective for postdoctoral researchers is the internal funding programme of the TU Berlin which offers short-term employment support during the preparation or large-scale project applications.
