Information Session on the European Reserach Council (ERC) for Female Researchers
With different funding schemes the ERC funds innovative basic and pioneering research of outstanding Principle Investigators (PIs) and their teams. It is open to all research disciplines (see erc.europa.eu). The information session on 1 April 2019 addresses female researchers who are interested in learning more about the funding schemes and application requirements of the ERC. In addition, an ERC grantee and an ERC panel member will share their experiences with the application and selection process. More details here.

The session on 2 April 2019 addresses researchers who are interested in applying for an ERC Starting or Consolidator Grant (see erc.europa.eu). You will learn more about the funding schemes and application requirements of the ERC. In addition, an ERC panel member and two ERC grantees will share their experiences with the application and evaluation process. More details here.
Lost in Dissertation: von der Literaturverwaltung bis zur Publikation – eine Veranstaltungsreihe für Promovierende

Die Berliner Universitätsbibliotheken und die Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin – Preußischer Kulturbesitz präsentieren zusammen mit Experten die Themen Literaturverwaltung, Publikationsmöglichkeiten, Open Access und Forschungsdaten. So erhalten Sie einen kompakten Überblick über die wichtigsten Aspekte sowie weiterführende konkrete Informationen zu einzelnen Angeboten der Universitäten. Die einzelnen Themen werden in sechs voneinander unabhängigen Modulen vom 02. bis 11. April 2019 präsentiert, so dass Sie je nach Interessenslage an allen oder nur ausgewählten Veranstaltungen teilnehmen können. Informationen zur Anmeldung hier.
Einstein Foundation - Funding programs
Until 27 May 2019 it is possible to apply for several funding programs of the Einstein Foundation. The Einstein Junior Fellow offers excellent young researchers the opportunity to remain employed by their current university on a temporary basis. The Einstein International Postdoctoral Fellow offers high-achieving young researchers in Berlin, who already have funding, the chance to include a postdoctoral researcher from abroad in their junior research group and to obtain additional support for material resources. The Einstein-Zirkel-Programm offers researchers in Berlin the opportunity to participate in Berlin-wide, theme-based collaborations across institutions which they organise themselves. Please note that the internal deadlines of the universities is 08 April 2019.
BIMoS PhD Award
The Berlin International Graduate School in Model and Simulation based Research (BIMoS) would like to honor the best dissertation among the TU doctoral students, who have completed their doctorate in 2018 on a topic within the area of data science and data-based modeling and simulation. The aim is to highlight outstanding achievements of a young researcher at the start of their scientific career. The submission deadline is 26 April 2019. More Information.

PhD career, but lack inspiration or a marketable business idea? Sign up for a workshop to develop your own potential and expand your
qualifications. The four-day interactive workshop on 08-09 May and 19-20 June 2019 series will teach you more about yourself and the opportunities you have. With the help of practice-oriented methods and tools, e.g. design thinking and other creative techniques, you will learn how to translate your strengths and creativity into concrete ideas. Research to Market Challenge - Competition for Research-Based Business Ideas
"Research to Market Challenge” is a competition for research-based product and business ideas from FU Berlin, HU Berlin, TU Berlin and Charité. The contest is hosted by the above-mentioned universities cooperating with Stiftung Charité, Ernst Reuter Gesellschaft, Humboldt-Universitäts-Gesellschaft and Berliner Sparkasse. The purpose of the “Research to Market Challenge” is to guide members and alumni of the participating institutions through the process of getting their thoughts about potential product or business out of their head, on to paper, and into an actionable plan for the first steps. The submission deadline for the current round of competition is 05 May 2019.
4th International PhD Summer School Trakai, Lithuania
Kaunas Univeristy of Technlogy invites doctoral (PhD) students to participate in the 4th International PhD Summer School, that will take place on 26-30 August 2019 in the historical city Trakai, Lithuania. The PhD Summer School focuses on development of key competences required for achieving best results in successful defense of the doctoral dissertation and identifying further research directions. It provides the opportunity for intellectually curious doctoral students to explore new knowledge, to expand cultural awareness and to exchange experience. The Registration closes 15 May 2019. Professional courses and language courses
As part of the program supported by the "Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD)" TU Berlin offers four to five part time scholarships in 2018. The scholarships are available for TU students who intend to visit professional courses and language courses abroad. Professional courses must include a teaching component and can be supported from a minimum of 5 days to a maximum of 6 weeks. Language courses at state universities abroad from 3 weeks to 6 months are eligible for support. In both cases the financial support may include travel expenses supported by a lump sum of 400 Euro as well as a lump sum of 500 EUR for course fees.
Applications may be handed in at TU-DOC Office at any time.
