Berlin Funding for Graduates (Elsa-Neumann-Stipendium des Landes Berlin/NaFöG): Application Deadline 22 November 2019, 12:00
Apply now for the proMotion training program for female doctoral researchers! Training, exchange and networking for all women working on a doctoral degree at TU Berlin. ProMotion training starts again in the winter term 2019/2020 and offers a series of workshops on topics like time and self-management, networking, setting goals and career orientation. The deadline for application is 13 October, 2019. The program language is German in the winter term and English in the summer term. TU-DOC newsletter for the start of the new semester
To commence the new Winter Semester 2019/2020, the TU-DOC Office for Doctoral and Postdoctoral Services has published its first ever newsletter. It can be found online here, along with a feedback form to further optimize our newsletter service for the future.

Applications for Initial acquisition of third-party funding
This funding instrument aims to help newly appointed professors to access third-party funding and support them in developing their Chair with the aid of third-party funded projects. Also, junior researchers (masters or comparable qualification), who have not yet obtained a doctorate, can apply for support as well. The submission deadline is 15 October 2019. Applications for post-doc grants
The TU Berlin seeks to advance outstanding junior PhD researchers for a maximum of 3 years after their PhD in the next stages of their career and provides support by ensuring financing for preparation of an application to the DFG for funding for a temporary position as principal investigator or for comparable programs. The submission deadline is 15 October 2019. The applicants have the task of convincing the members of the Strukturkommission (Structural Committee) of their research project with a five-minute lecture. The presentation will be held on 20 Novemeber 2019. More information here.
Bewerbungsstart für Forum Junge Spitzenforscher

Ab sofort startet die neue Bewerbungsrunde des Wissenschaftswettbewerbs „Forum Junge Spitzenforscher“. Im Fokus des diesjährigen Wettbewerbs steht das Thema „Klimawandel“. Bis zum 3. November 2019 können sich Nachwuchsforscherinnen und -forscher aller Berliner Universitäten und anderer Berliner Forschungseinrichtungen für den interdisziplinären Wettbewerb bewerben und Anwendungsideen aus der innovativen Grundlagenforschung einreichen. Ausgeschrieben sind Preisgelder in Höhe von insgesamt 36.000 Euro. Mehr Informationen.
Publish or Perish!? Wissenschaftliches Publizieren für Promovierende

Die Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin bietet vom 07.-19. November 2019 die Workshopreihe "Publish or Perish – Wissenschaftliches Publizieren für Promovierende" an, mit der Promovierende insbesondere bei der Veröffentlichung ihrer Dissertationsschrift unterstützt werden sollen. Die Reihe besteht aus vier verschiedenen Veranstaltungen. Der Eintritt ist frei, um eine Anmeldung wird gebeten. Mehr Informationen hier.

Career Day for International Junior Researchers 2019
On 26 November 2019, the TU alumni program and the TU-DOC office are holding the second Career Day for International Junior Researchers. It is aimed at giving international PhD students and PostDocs an insight on the variety of academic and non-academic career prospects on the German job market as well as informing about requirements for non-EU nationals to work in Germany. The Career Day offers a number of workshops and the opportunity to meet and get to know the speakers. More information on the event and on registration here.

Workshop "Gute Betreuung" of the Humboldt Graduate School
Four times a year the Humboldt Graduate School offers the training workshop "Gute Betreuung" ("good supervision"), which is aimed at junior professors and junio reserach group leaders. The next date in 27 November 2019. In the workshop, professional and personal conditions in of doctoral supervision, both of the junior researches and the supervisors, will be discussed in structured questions and discussion groups.
