TU Travel Grants for Conferences

The TU Berlin and its Network of Doctoral Programs supports conference travel for all doctoral candidates and postdocs at the university. If you would like to apply for a Travel Grant please contact the TU-DOC Office as early as possible. You application should be handed in preferably at least four weeks before your trip. Already started trips cannot be financed. Apart from that, there are no fixed deadlines for applications.

Support is mainly granted for active participation (e.g. presentation of a poster or paper). If especially relevant for the doctoral work, the participation without a contribution can be supported.

The maximum support is 800,00€ based on expenses incurred, participation without a contribution is supported in exceptional cases and up to 200,00€.

Precondition is a relevance for the doctoral research and documentation of an active culture of supervision according to the guidelines of the TU Berlin. For details please see the list of required documents below. For postdocs this applies analogously. Relevance to individual qualification goals of PostDoc employment should be made clear and an indication to what extent one is being supervised in order to reach their individual qualification goals should be provided.

Furthermore, affirmation is required that no other means of support (e.g. out of the budget of the chair, project or a doctoral program) are available.

Travel grants are granted only once for each person and year.

Before you apply please also consider other means of funding, especially the program to support the travel to conferences (Kongressreiseprogramm) as well as the travel program for speakers and presenters (Vortragsreiseprogramm) by the DAAD.
